ANCHORSONG ( Tokyo/ London/ BBE) – Live set

MPC의 귀재 Anchorsong이 이번주 목요일 케이크샵에서 서울 데뷔를 치른다. Anchorsong은 그의 라이브 쇼를 통해 일본과 국제적으로 사람들의 인정을 받게 된다. Yoshida의 음악은 그의 공연의 스크래치에서부터 샘플러와 키보드로 창조되며 종종 이러한 사운드는 현악 4중주에 의해 확장되기도 한다. 진정한 라이브 음악인 것이다. 그의 나라인 일본 Lastrum에서의 몇 차례의 발매를 통해 Anchorsong은 런던으로 진출하였으며 곧바로 Darkrum EP로 알려진 four-track CDR을 발표하며 Brington의 Tru Thoughts 레이블과 함께 하게 되었다. 작년 보일러룸 TV의 첫 출연과 Radio 1의 Huw Stephens의 서포트는 이 젊은이에 대한 관심이 시작되는데 큰 도움이 되었다. 그의 최근 BBE에서 작업한 지난 달 Mawa의 발매는 굉장한 찬사를 받았으며, 이 특별한 재능의 다음 단계로의 원동력이 될 것으로 보인다. Bonobo, Prefuse 73, DJ Krush, Daedelus, Jaga Jazzist 등과 같은 취향을 지니고 있었다면 이번 쇼는 절대 놓쳐서는 안될 것이다.

MPC wunderkid Anchorsong makes his Seoul debut this Thursday at Cakeshop.
Anchorsong has been winning friends in Japan and internationally with his live shows, and yes we do mean live: Yoshida’s music is created with a sampler and a keyboard, from scratch at his gigs. Sometimes these sounds are augmented by a string quartet.
With a couple of releases for Lastrum in his native Japan, Anchorsong relocated to London and soon hooked up with the Brighton-based Tru Thoughts label, who put out a four-track CDR called the Darkrum EP. That, an appearance on Boiler Room TV last year, and support from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens have all helped this young man begin to garner attention. His latest release for BBE , Mawa, released last month, has been critically acclaimed, and looks to push this unique talent to the next level.
Having supported the likes of Bonobo, Prefuse 73, DJ Krush, Daedelus, Jaga Jazzist and more, it’s needless to see this is one show that cannot be missed!
