Luca Venezia는 지난 10년 동안 대부분을 덥스텝 전도사인 Drop The Lime으로 베이스 빈을 팽창시키는데 보냈다. 뉴욕의 중대한 Trouble & Bass 레이블의 수장으로, Venezia는 셀수없이 많은 격렬한, 서브 헤비 비트를 발표했다. 그리고 나서 막 덥스텝이 주류로 뜨기 시작할때, 그는 그의 등을 돌려버렸다. 정말로 모순되게, Venezia는 Drop the Lime을 라이브로 노래하고 노는 라커빌리 일렉트로 퓨전 아웃핏으로 변화시켰다.

약 일년전 쯤 그는 다시한번 그의 변신을 꾀했으며, 그의 오래된 이름중 하나인 Curses을 부활시켜, 그의 고향 뉴욕 도시를 장악하고 있는 그 자신의 새로운 하우스와 테크노에 잘 비틀어 넣었다. 이것은 올해 초 그의 감성적인 하우스 트랙 “So Good”과 함께 공표되었고 신선한 새로운 레이블 “Safer at night”은 미래지향적인 비트와 그늘진 하우스 바이브의 사운드를 담은 뉴욕의 새로운 레이블로 떠오르고 있다.

2014년은 Curses에게는 크게 성공하는 한해가 될것이며, Safer at night의 잘 꿰어진 거대한 노래들이 발표를 앞두고 늘어서 있다. 우리는 Cakeshop에서 Curses의 첫번째 퍼포먼스를 시연하게 된것을 무한한 영광으로 생각하는 바이다.

Luca Venezia spent most of the last ten years exploding bass bins as dubstep evangelist Drop The Lime. As head of the seminal Trouble & Bass label in New York, Venezia released countless ferocious, sub heavy beats. Then, just as dubstep started to break the mainstream, he turned his back on it. Ever contrary, Venezia turned Drop the Lime into a rockabilly electro fusion outfit, singing and playing live.

Around a year ago he transformed once again, reviving one of his older monikers, Curses, putting his own twist on the new wave of house and techno taking over his hometown of New York City. This was announced with the emotional house track “So Good” earlier this year and the fresh new label “Safer at night”, pushing a new NYC sound of futuristic beats and a shadowy house vibe.

2014 will be a huge year for Curses and Safer at night with a string of massive songs about to be released. We are proud to present the first performance of Curses in Korea at Cakeshop.
