Dasha Rush 의 이상하고 왜곡된 세계속에서, 기계들은 인간의 꿈으로 짜여진 새로운 낭만주의 (neo-romanticism) 의 주인공들이다.

러시아 태생의 Dasha Rush 는 음악의 장르를 목표점이 아닌 시작점으로 보고있는 아티스트이다. 그녀는 수많은 투어와 앨범활동을 통해 세계적으로 존경받는 테크노 DJ / 프로듀서, Live 퍼포머로 활동하는 한편, 비쥬얼 아티스트들, 퍼포머, 댄서들과 함께 다양한 콜라보레이션 활동을 펼치며 댄스플로어 이외의 활동을 하는데에도 똑같은 비중을 두고 있다. 그녀의 초기 라이브 퍼포먼스들은 설치음악 (Sound Installations) 과 극장 퍼포먼스를 이용한 전시의 한부분이였으며, 전자음악의 감성적인면과 기술적인 측면을 동시에 탐구, 실험하는 공연들이였다. 그녀는 전통적이며 진부한 표현들에 대립하며 만들어진 다양한 방식의 보기드문 테크노 실험들을 추구하며, 오늘날 예술계의 방향성에 큰 영향을 끼친 20세기초 언더그라운드 무브먼트에서 영향받은 소리들을 조합하여 이루어진 음악들을 선보이고 있다.
2005년 Dasha Rush 의 레이블 Fullpanda 를 통해 발매된 그녀의 첫번째 테크노 릴리즈는 꽤 성공적이였는데, 특히 ‘Shtirlitz’ 라는 트랙은 여러 디제이들의 차트에 이름을 올리기도 하였다. 2006년에는 댄스플로어를 위한 리듬과 베이스, 그리고 실험적인 사운드 스케이프가 더해져 만들어진 차가운 인더스트리얼 계열의 소리들과 미니멀한 공간감이 어울려진 첫번째 정규앨범 ‘Forms ain’t Formats’ 가 발매되었다. 이 앨범은 이후에 발매된 EP들과 함께 전세계의 다양한 음악잡지들, 디제이, 프로듀서들로부터 수많은 리뷰들과 반응들을 이끌어내었다.
2009년에는 Hunger to Create 레이블에서 두번째 정규앨범 ‘I Run Iron I Run Ironic’ 이 발매되었다. Dasha Rush는 이 앨범을 통해 테크노 커뮤니티의 예상과 바램과는 전혀 다른 방향의 음악적 관점을 표현, 프랜치 팝과 결합된 구체음악 (Concret Music) 을 선보이며 그녀만의 새로운 시도들을 이어나갔다. 이 앨범의 쇼케이스는 베를린에 있는 작은 교회 Theaterkapll 에서 열렸으며, 연극적인 요소들이 가미된 매우 특별한 공연으로 기억되고 있다.

2010년 1월 Dasha Rush 는 전설적인 레이블, Sonic Groove records 에서 3개의 트랙들로 구성된 ‘Sonic State’ 를 발표하였는데, 이 앨범은 우리의 몸과 마음을 위한 어둡고 미래지향적이며 인더스트리얼한 초저주파 (subsonic bass) 테크노이자, 새로운 세대를 위한 현재 진행형 테크노로 묘사되고 있다. RA (Resident Advisor) 에서 리뷰를 확인할 수 있으며, Marcel Fengler , Peter Van Hoesen 등과 같은 아티스트들의 챠트에 이름을 올리기도 하였다.
2010년 말에는 베를린에서 활동중인 Lars Hemmerling 과 함께 LADA 라는 프로젝트를 결성하여 ‘Unspoken EP’ 를 발표하였다. 현대 댄스음악의 요소들과 하나로 규정지을수 없는 여러 소리들의 실험들로부터 만들어진 이 앨범중, 트랙 ‘Veloure Rouge’ 와 ‘Unspoken’ 은 Cio D’or , Efdemin , Obtane 와 같은 아티스트들의 챠트에 이름을 올렸으며, 비디오 작품으로도 만들어졌다.
2015년 Raster-Norton 레이블을 통해 발매된 세번째 정규앨범 ‘Sleepstep’ 은 그녀의 성향들을 가장 잘 보여주고 있다. “이 16개의 트랙들은 잠이든 무의식의 상태와 깨어있는 의식의 상태 사이를 표현하고 있으며, 두 영역사이 곳곳에 존재하는 그녀의 음악들을 반영하고 있다. 몽환적이면서 강렬한, 때로는 잔혹하면서도 부드러운, 안개가 낀듯 맑은듯한 상반된 느낌을 표현한 ‘Sleepstep’ 앨범은 놀라운 모순 그 자체이다. 그녀의 강한 독립적 성향으로부터 나오는 한가지에 머무르지 않고 끊임없이 변화하는 이러한 성향은 그녀의 음악에서 무척 중요한 요소이다.” (Tony Naylor)
Dasha Rush 는 다양한 음악적(혹은 비음악적) 요소들을 통한 작곡, 미디어 아트와의 콜라보레이션 등을 넘나들며 현대 댄스음악의 경계를 계속 확장시켜나가고 있다. 그녀는 최근 자신의 오디오-비쥬얼 프로젝트인 “Antarctic Takt” 을 통해 Atonal 2014 페스티벌, Mutek Montreal 2015, Volt Festival 등에서 공연중이며, 또한 전세계를 돌며 라이브 공연과 디제잉을 선보이고 있다.

In her strange and twisted world the machines are the protagonists of a neo-romanticism, weaved with human dreams.

Dasha Rush is a Russian-born artist who sees the genre as a starting place, not a destination. She is a respected and well-traveled DJ and live performer, but her work is equally focused away from the dance floor, and sometimes away from the music itself. Combining her activities as a dj and techno producer on her Fullpanda imprint, which founded in 2005, with other multi-artistic collaborations alongside visual artists or dancers. Her first live performances formed part of gallery exhibitions, using sound installations and theatre performances, exploring the emotional and technological aspects of electronic music. Dasha brings up a mixture of rather rare electronic experimentation’s and synthesized sounds more akin to the brief movement of underground music the roots of such partially go back to the early 20th century and rise to significant Art Movements to this day.
Her first techno release on “Fullpanda“ was quite successful, track called “Shtirlitz” was taking places in various dj’s charts. In 2006 her debut album “Forms ain’t Formats”, where she combine dancefloor rhythms and bass lines with experimental soundscapes, mixing cold industrial with minimalistic atmosphere . This release provoke numerous reaction and reviews from international music magazines, dj , producers as well as several following Ep’s. Never stopped experimenting, In 2009 She released her second album, called “I run iron I run ironic” on “Hunger to Create records”. Regardless techno community expectations, Dasha took risk to hit a different musical aspect, pointing towards experimentation based on “concrete” music combining with French pop . Presentation of the release was taking place, as special live concert with elements of theater play , at the small church , Theaterkaplle in Berlin. This release provoked very diverse opinions, followed by some reviews In several music magazines like De:bug, Groove and more.

In January 2010 Dasha releasing for legendary label Sonic Groove records. 3 track release “Sonic State” on Sonic Groove can be described as dark, futuristic, industrialized subsonic bass techno for the mind and the feet. By the end of the year 2010 Dasha creates a new project “LADA” in collaboration with Berliner Lars Hemmerling. Later on Dasha Rush coming with “Unspoken” ep. In this release Dasha Rush bringing up a mixture of rather rare techno electronic experimentations, and synthesized sounds more akin to the brief movement of underground music. Where roots of such sound partially go back to the early 20th century that rise to significant Art Movements now days ,that encouraged experimentation with various musical (and non musical) forms, while rejecting more conventional, tradition-bound styles of expression. By Including the elements of contemporary dance music and experimentations with deep , slightly dark undefined sounds as for the titles like “ Veloure rouge” or “Unspoken” , that has been charted by artists like Cio D’or , Efdemin , Obtane , and has been followed by video work :
Her recent album for Raster-Noton, Sleepstep, could be a metaphor for her work: “These 16 pieces are transmissions from that state between sleep and wakefulness,” said Tony Naylor, a reflection of the in-between zones her music often inhabits. Dubby but intense, brutal but tender, foggy yet clear—Sleepstep was a wonderful mass of contradictions. Not being one thing or the other is vitally important to Rush, which goes hand-in-hand with her strong independent streak.
Dasha likes to push the boundaries of contemporary dance music to the limit, encourages experimentation with various musical (and non-musical) forms and assembling into a thoughtful composition and interaction between the media, like her recent audiovisual project named “Antarctic Takt”. Which was premiered at Atonal festival in 2014, following the presentations at to name a few. Now days Dasha Rush performs Live acts and dj sets all over the globe.
