DJ Haus는 지난 몇 해동안 가장 왕성한 활동을 보여주었던 레이블 중 하나인 Unknown to the Unknown 레코드를 운영하면서, Palace, Willie Burns, Matrixxman, Vin Sol, Dubbel Dutch, Slackk, Murlo와 같은 이들과의 음반을 발매해왔다. 그는 개러지 유닛인 Hot City의 멤버이자, 또한 DJ Q와 같이 저지하우스 듀오 Trumpet & Badman으로 활동 중이다. 한 마디로 그는 굉장히 바쁜 사람이다.
Unknown To The Unknown에서 굉장한 릴리즈를 수 차례 발표하며 복고풍의 사운드와 강렬한 피아노 화음, 정글 스타일을 가미한 믹스에 100% 기분 좋은 바이브까지 합쳐진 그들의 음악은 확실히 사람들을 춤추게 만드는 것에 몰두하고 있다고 말할 수 있다.
‘Addicted 2 Houz’, ‘Comin’ On’ 그리고 ‘Wurk It Girl’와 같이 연이어 쏟아진 그의 트랙은 재치있는 90년대 하우스를 떠올리게 하며 순진하고 코뮌적 향락주의의 정신을 불러 일으켜 이러한 따뜻한 기운은 행복감에 젖게 한다. 불행이란 없는 것 같이 말이다. Haus는 파티 매 순간을 이렇게 당신을 들뜨게 만드는 음악으로 채워나간다.
Haus의 프로듀싱에 대한 편집광적인 모습은 Bicep, Ben UFO, Annie Mac, Jackmaster, Hot Chip, Redlight 외에도 많은 이들과의 작업에서 알 수 있다. 화제가 되었던 Rinse 쇼에서의 등장과 다수의 성공적이었던 EP에 뒤이어 그는 최근 평단으로부터 극찬을 받은 데뷔 앨범 ‘Burnin’ Up’을 Rinse 쇼의 자체 레이블에서 발표하기에 이르는데, 애시드 하우스의 90년대 그루브를 담은 컬렉션이다.
우리는 DJ Haus의 첫 내한 공연을 발표하게 되어 매우 설렌다.

DJ Haus runs record label Unknown to the Unknown, one of the most hyped labels of the past few years and has released music from the likes of Palace, Willie Burns, Matrixxman, Vin Sol, Dubbel Dutch, Slackk and Murlo. He’s also one half of garage unit Hot City as well as one half of Jersey house duo Trumpet & Badman alongside DJ Q. Essentially he’s one busy guy.
With Unknown To The Unknown churning out solid releases time and time again, their sound is definitely preoccupied with making people dance – a real mix of throwback rave sounds, big piano chords, a sprinkle of junglist moments and 100% feel good vibes.
His tracks – pelters like ‘Addicted 2 Houz’, ‘Comin’ On’ and ‘Wurk It Girl’ – throw cheekily back to 90s house and all invoke the spirit of innocent, communal hedonism and arouse feelings of warm, rushing euphoria. No bad vibes. With a penchant for playing music that makes you feel hyper, Haus brings the party every damn time
The production obsessive is championed by Bicep, Ben UFO, Annie Mac, Jackmaster, Hot Chip, Redlight & many more. Having held down a Rinse show for a hot minute and with a slew of huge EP’s, Haus recently released a critically acclaimed debut album for the station’s in-house label titled ‘Burnin’ Up’ a collection of acid soaked mid ‘90s grooves.
