영국출신의 Phase는 Gritty Minimal Techno 에서부터 Detroit 성향의 음악들로부터 영향받은 스타일을 선보이며, 벨기에 레이블 Token Records 에서 발매한 작품들로 잘 알려져있다.
처음에는 원래 직업인 마스터링 엔지니어로 일하면서 사이드로 음악을 만들기 시작했는데, 2000년에 Steve Bicknell의 레이블 Lost / Cosmic records 에서 데뷰 EP인 Module Overload 를 발표하였고 그후 연달아 런던에 있는 레이블 Surface / Inceptive Records 와 Ben Sims 의 Ingoma imprint 등 에서 트랙들을 발표, 테크노 커뮤니티에서 꾸준한 지지와 호응을 받기 시작했다.
Token Records 와는 2007년부터 함께 하기 시작, 2012년 발표한 싱글 Binary Opposition 과 그후 발표한 리믹스 패키지 Reprocessed 의 성공에 힘입어 점점 전세계적으로 알려지게 되었고, 2013년 드디어 정규앨범인 Frames of Reference 를 발매하게 이르렀다.

근래 Phase 의 이름은 Robert Hood, Peter Van Hoesen, Mark Broom 등 유명 디제이/프로듀서들의 리믹스 작품들에서도 발견할수 있으며, Marcel Dettmann 과 Ben Klock 의 전폭적인 지지에 힘입어 베를린의 클럽 Berghain 에서 정기적으로 플레잉 하고 있다.

현재 Phase 는 바쁜 나날들을 보내며 로마, 오슬로, 암스테르담, 런던, 스톡홀롬, 부에노스 아이레스, 브루셀, 마르세유, 나이메헨, 글래스고, 비엔나, 샹하이 등의 도시와 I Love Techno 같은 페스티발 무대에서 플레이 해오고 있다.

UK based Techno producer best known by his work on the Belgium based Token Records and whose style ranges from gritty Minimal Techno to Detroit influenced material.

Originally a mastering engineer, he began producing as a sideline, releasing his debut “Module Overload” on Steve Bicknell’s Lost/Cosmic records in 2000. This was followed by a string of productions for London’s Surface/Inceptive Records and Ben Sims’ Ingoma imprint, all of which saw consistent support throughout the techno community.

Since he started working with Token in 2007, his music has progressively earned more and more worldwide recognition – most significantly on 2012′s much acclaimed “Binary Opposition” single and subsequent “Reprocessed” remix package. In 2013 he finally released his first full length album, “Frames of Reference”.

Recent times have seen him remix for the likes of Robert Hood, Peter Van Hoesen & Mark Broom, while avid support from Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock have led to regular appearances at Berghain in Berlin.

Today, his DJ schedule is busier than ever, having performed in Rome, Oslo, Amsterdam, London, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, Brussels, Marseille, Nijmegen, Glasgow, Vienna, Shanghai and at several festivals including I Love Techno over the last few months.
