Cabinett is a young upcoming Nu-Disco producer part of Oh! Records. He released his first house production when he was only 18years old. Supported by artists such as DJ EQ, Uppermost and Glen Check.

Cabinett은 Oh! Records 소속으로 Nu-disco 기반의 음악 프로듀서이자 DJ이다. 18세 였던 2011년 부터 Soundcloud를 통해 House 음악을 공개해 왔으며, DJ EQ, Uppermost, Glen Check 등 국내외 아티스트들의 서포트를 받았다.

이번 골목길을 위한 믹스를 간단히 소개해본다면? 
최근부터 과거의 Nu disco를 같은 주제로 표현해보았다.

디제이를 할 때 가장 즐거운 점은?
플레잉 하고 있는 공간을 원하는 분위기로 만들어냈을 때가 정말 기쁘다.

디제이를 시작 하게 된 계기는?
음악을 이해하는 것에 있어서 더 좋은 안목을 기르기 위한 수단으로 접근했지만 지금은 그 이상으로 재미있게 즐기고 있다.

해외에서 활동해 본 경험은? 한국과는 어떤 차이점이 있나?
아직 없다. 그러나 빠른 시일 내에 가능하다고 확신하고 있다.

현재 한국의 언더씬에는 어떤 변화가 있다고 생각하나?
점점 더 확실하고 다양한 문화들이 자리잡고 있다고 생각한다.

본인의 음악 색깔을 간단히 정의해본다면?
색으로 표현하자면 에메랄드와 보라의 경계에 있다.
남들과 겹치지 않는 독창적인 음악을 추구하고 있다.

프로듀싱이나 작곡활동도 하고 있는지?
2011년 부터 제작해둔 일렉트로와 샘플링 기반의 하우스 음악들을 공개하기 시작했고,
2013년을 기준으로 Nu-disco 음악을 제작하는 중이다.
그리고 sub-project로, ‘Articlue’라는 이름으로 Ambient, Lounge 음악을 만들고 있다.

Tell us about your mix for Golmokgil.
This mix is a blend of Fresh Nu Disco and Classics.

What is your favourite aspect of DJing?
I feel great when I match a clubs atmosphere with my music.

How did you start DJing?
I initially started djing to understand music better and see it from another perspective. Now i enjoy it on a whole new level.

Have you ever performed abroad? If yes any difference with Korea?
I never deejayed abroad. But it seems it will happen in the near future.

Do you think there has a been an evolution in the Korean underground scene?
I feel a more wider range of cultures are being represented in the underground scene.

What do you think is your musical color?
If I have to express it with a color I would say its borderline emerald and purple
I try to make unique creative music.

Do you also produce?
I started to release electronic and sample based music in 2011.
In 2013 I started focusing on nu-disco.
I have also a sub-project called “Articlue” which showcases ambient and lounge music.
